Escort Kids in Soccer

Filed under: General — goharsahi @ 3:25 pm

FIFA Worldcup is on these days. Everyone is enjoying the ‘The Beautiful Game’, the most popular game on earth – soccer. The stats are going higher and higher. But few things went unnoticed. Atleast not many ppl around me know about those. One of those is the Escort Kids.

Kids escorting players onto the soccer field. This “Escort Kids Program” was first started in 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea/Japan. Although the main objective of this plan is to help the children in wars in third-world countries to indulge in on some positive activity, but one thing here needs to be mentioned. A by-product of this plan is ‘confidence’ in the children. Imagine those escort kids growing up with the feeling that they’ve been alongside some of the greatest names in the soccer world like Ronaldo, Zidane or Bekham for that matter. They would be sharing their experiences and feelings with their friends & family for a very long time. This can be a huge doze of confidence for them.

This is a common practice in developed countries like US, Canada, Australia and other european countries that they promote their kids on big occasions. This results in early maturity in children and they tend to shake off their hasitation pretty early. This is one reason why we see quite a few promising youngsters from developed countries.

Those developed nations have more children rights than any other country. Their plans revolve more around the youth development. The schools arrange more visits & participation for their students to their parliaments so that they can get the first-hand info on how government-business is run. This way, the children are able to relate theory to practice.

In thirld world countries, children are burdened heavily with theoratical knowledge, but when they grow up, they are mostly short of confidence. They have no clue how to apply the theory in practical life. This results in slow progress in their professional lives. Youngsters have problems deciding what they want to do in their lives as they don’t know which profession will be suitable to their skills and nature and they waste precious time in figuring out what they really should be doing and most of them end up being stuck at wrong job.

Its about time that our governments should give a serious thought to our future, the kids. Its a very fast world and timely decision needs to be taken or else the polarization of nations will reach a point of no return. Nobody is going to think for us, so its only us who have to stand up to the task.

Hope someone concerned takes notice & escorts our kids to a bright future!!!
